Acting - Vocal Coaching - Youth Performing Arts
The purpose of the performing arts is empathy - to learn what it means to be human, and remind each other that we are not alone. So much is learned through theater and music, and I believe that we all become better humans by engaging in them. The world needs more art!

My teaching philosophy is centered around educating one about oneself. Through a process of self-examination, one builds empathy and the ability to interact with the world in authentic, generous, and courageous ways.  Plus, it should be fun! If we can get silly, can laugh at all our eccentricities, we invite others into our world and build relationships.

Acting is a series of specific tasks.  Performance is actively working moment-to-moment on concentration and objective.  Learning to act is learning how to access what one knows about being human in specific circumstances in order to do that moment-to-moment work.  We do that through text analysis of the given circumstances, sensory work, movement and body awareness, relaxation, work with relationship, status, place, obstacle and stakes, among other things.  Building tools to utilize in the moment to keep one concentrated, in the "here and now", and actively living the truth of the character is the work of the actor.
CONTACT TINA
EDUCATOR RESUME
Not only is Tina a thoughtful and accomplished actor herself, but she has a gift for helping actors let go of inhibitions and find keys to unlock creativity. Her keen emotional intelligence, compassion, and patience have helped me both in the rehearsal room and on stage, and when I had to tape a last-minute audition, she helped me not only learn and personalize the text quickly, but also get over my self-consciousness about acting on camera in my living room. She perfectly balances compassion and zero tolerance for tricks or untruthful mannerisms. She's insightful and creative, and she'll help you uncover layers and connections in texts you never knew were there.
- Keenan Caldwell (NYC Actor, "MacBeth")
Tina has the ability to help others find an authentic sound through both vocal and intentional strategies. Her experience as a performer and her keenly observational brain make her a wonderful educator and collaborator. I highly recommend Tina to anyone looking to sharpen a performance or deepen their understanding of their voice.
- Lilli Wosk (Musical Director, Ntl Tour "Waitress", Itnl Tour "HAIR)
